The introduction of the new textbook includes a review of the material from the 1st grade. Subsequently, students will become familiar with the concepts of alphabet, word, and sentence, learn different types of sentences, clarify the concepts of word, syllable, phoneme, and letter, hard and soft consonants, words with dě, tě, ně, bě, pě, vě, mě, and parts of speech. They will learn the basics of writing capital letters and connecting sentences into complex sentences. At the end, there is a summary review. The textbook contains a wealth of exercises for practice, poems, games, independent work, and additional grammatical and stylistic tasks; it is clear and richly illustrated. The text includes references to the relevant pages in the workbooks Czech Language 2 New, Parts 1 and 2 (A4 format). Orientation in the textbook is facilitated by various colored backgrounds (green for chapter titles, yellow for definitions). Additionally, the textbook contains pictograms that help students navigate the exercises and activities.
