This reader will engage students with an attractive selection of literary excerpts. Students will enjoy both modern and classic fairy tales, and they will experience cheerful adventures in the humorous stories of their peers. In this reader, students will encounter a variety of literary forms and learn to distinguish between different types of artistic texts and use elementary literary concepts. Our aim is to significantly increase children's interest in reading, so they read joyfully and extensively, and the included excerpts motivate them to read books. Therefore, we have chosen texts that are appealing and relevant to the interests of today's fifth graders. Working with the textbook is balanced with interesting teaching forms and selected activating methods. It is relationally connected to all subjects. A list of forms and methods usable when working with the Reader for the 5th grade: • activating forms of reading instruction (block teaching, Dalton plan, individual, frontal, individualized, interactive, problem-based, group/cooperative, open teaching, project-based, experiential learning, critical thinking, teaching using technology, field trips/excursions, dramatization, visits to cultural institutions) • activating methods of reading instruction (conversation, debate, recitation,…
