The Braun family splits between the right and the left, becoming the embodiment of a divided populace. Journalist Kurt Severing and artist Marta Müller watch in horror as society begins to spiral into extremism. However, most Berliners experience daily joys and sorrows and are completely unaware of the looming threat to their existence.
