Description
The technothriller by Simon Scarrow and Lee Francis begins as a classic locked-room mystery. In an apartment that has burned down, firefighters find a dead man sitting at a computer. Someone cruelly tortured him and then burned him alive. The room was locked from the inside, the windows were not broken, and the security cameras in the hallways did not capture anyone. Yet a neighbor heard the man's desperate scream from the apartment: "Enough... enough, Iris!" It seems the task is to find out who Iris is, how she got into and out of the apartment unnoticed, and then catch and convict her. However, the deceased Gary Coulter was wearing a peculiar rubber suit at the time of his death and was also a key member of a team involved in a sensitive project related to the defense of the United States. Therefore, the investigation is taken over by special FBI agent Rose Blake and her colleagues, who assume that the Department of Defense, which commissioned the project, will provide them with all the necessary information. However, the project was so secret that Rose must first figure out what it is about before she can search for the murderer.
