The little thief Loth is currently sitting in prison, and he couldn't care less about politics. That is until a bunch of idiots literally breaks into his cell, claiming they have come to rescue the lost prince of Aguillon, even though they only know that he is supposedly a redhead. Coincidentally, that is Loth, but so is his grumpy cellmate, and of course, they both immediately declare themselves to be the prince – what wouldn't one do for freedom... ***** So it's not enough that Loth is on the worst-planned escape ever – he also has to share a horse and a blanket with that filthy prison mate while trying to pretend to be a noble, endure seriously terrible 'noble' food, and dodge bandits and swamp monsters. ***** Moreover, Loth gradually discovers that there is more to his cellmate What's-his-name than meets the eye. Beneath all that dirt and cheekiness, he isn't so bad after all. One might even say he is attractive. This leads Loth to suspect that he might be developing some feelings for him. Not that he knows what to do with them. And not that the horde of people trying to kill them has the decency to give him time to think it over. ***** Well, at least they have a dragon.
