Description
Pyrre doesn't like being called Skull. That word doesn't capture the beauty of her devotion to Ananshael, the god of death. Moreover, she is not an assassin, as is often claimed about Ananshael's servants, but a priestess. More precisely, she will be, if she passes the final exam. The problem isn't killing – Pyrre has spent her entire life training in the art of death. The problem is love. Pyrre has fourteen days to kill seven people according to an ancient song, and one of those people must be her true love. But she has never been in love, and if she fails, she will be surrendered to her god. She may not fear death, but she fears failure. And so she has no choice but to return to her hometown – a city on the brink of revolution, where forgotten old gods lurk in the shadows demanding blood – to a past she rejected, hoping to find love here… and end it with the blade of her knife.
