Description
In the near future, a young translator will have the opportunity for a lucrative job at a new, mysterious ministry that relocates "expats" from various historical epochs to the present and explores the possibilities of time travel. The main character becomes one of the "bridgers," and her task is to take care of Commander Graham Gore, otherwise known as "1847." According to historical records, Commander Gore died during the lost Franklin expedition to the Arctic - now, however, he must familiarize himself with such bizarre realities as washing machines, Spotify, feminism, and the dissolution of the British Empire. His bridger is to live with him, help him adapt, and also monitor his every move. Over the following year, their initially awkward cohabitation begins to develop into something deeper, while the true nature of the project that connected their lives comes to light. Can love overcome the obstacles of time and history? And can history be changed?
