Description
It is the year 1973 and we are in an amusement park in a small town in North Carolina. Devin Jones, a college student with literary ambitions and a freshly broken heart, decides to work at the rides over the summer. He finds new friends among the worldly, who eventually accept him, saves a girl’s life, befriends a dying boy, and falls in love with his beautiful mother. The first half of the story is sweet and nostalgic, but even here, ominous signs run as an undercurrent. Devin learns not only how to operate the carousel but also that a girl was murdered in the Haunted Castle four years ago, her killer never caught, and her spirit still roams the amusement park…
