Virologist Lyla is not having the best of times. Her research is unlikely to receive further funding, and her relationship with the four years younger actor Nico is not what she had dreamed of. However, Nico has a different opinion. Moreover, he comes up with the idea that his career would benefit if they both signed up for a new reality show.

In the show Perfect Couple, partner pairs are supposed to compete in a series of activities on a tropical island in the middle of the Indian Ocean. For Lyla, the idea of running around in bikinis in front of the camera is not appealing at all, yet she decides to support Nico. An escape from reality might ultimately help her sort everything out within herself.

But right after the first challenge, the participants are frustrated, and as if that weren't enough, a storm hits at night, cutting them off from the mainland. Drinking water is running out, nerves are fraying, and with the discovery of a dead body, the failed show turns into a terrifying reality.

Some, however, still intend to win – even at the cost of betrayal, manipulation, and murder…
