Description
SOME WOUNDS BLEED EVEN AFTER FOUR CENTURIES...
Záviš, a historian without a place and a worker without illusions, arrives in Frýdlant to work on the restoration of the local castle. He expects a routine job: some earthworks, a bit of stone, and plenty of time for beer. But Frýdlant is a town with a history, the Valdštejn celebrations are approaching, and it wouldn't be the first time Záviš got caught up in something.
First, he gets into a scuffle with a local brawler, then he loses a book from the library, and finally, he discovers a mysterious dagger that bears a striking resemblance to an artifact from the seventeenth century. When a dead body of one of the swordsmen is found during the ongoing festivities, it soon becomes clear that this very dagger is the murder weapon.
Záviš, as a self-appointed investigator, cannot escape this case. He stumbles again with a beer in hand and dark demons in his head, caught between cynicism and justice. But this time it's different... A red-haired beauty gets tangled up in the case, thoroughly confusing Záviš.
A thrilling detective story full of old grievances and melancholy, smelling of malt and dusty chronicles.
