Description
ANOTHER PUZZLING CASE OF THE UNINTENTIONAL DETECTIVE OTA FINK... A nighttime encounter between two lonely travelers on an abandoned road in the summer of 1961 might not have meant anything—if one of them weren't the unintentional detective Ota Fink, a lathe operator in civilian life. It was only because he got lost on his way to the Valley of the Orange Rocks that he stumbled upon a scantily dressed girl who introduced herself as Viola Těšínská, the wife of King Václav III. After the alluring girl takes him home on the frame of her bicycle, Ota flees back to Prague to escape the rain. However, the mysterious "snake charmer" still lingers in his mind, just like the dying fire behind the nearby forest, which does not at all resemble a campfire for roasting sausages. Just a few days pass, and Ota sets out again to the place where he met Viola. But in the house where he took her, no one has ever heard of her. Did she disappear, or was she simply lying? A new mystery arises: Who is the mysterious Haštal that the detectives are asking about? Does he have something to do with the strange girl? And is Viola even still alive?
