The war with the Corsairs does not end even when a potentially powerful ally appears in the human-colonized part of the universe – an alien race that has its own harsh experiences with the mysterious aggressors. The Bloody Belt, a cluster of asteroids rich in transolarite, is chosen as the site for the first diplomatic meeting between representatives of both civilizations, where the station with the strongest protective shield ever created by humanity is located. Along with the flagship of the South American fleet, UTSS Salamis is also tasked with defending the Cinturón de Sangre, whose presence the aliens explicitly requested. But can humans trust the aliens when the first contact with extraterrestrials ended in an undeclared war? And how much trust are potential allies willing to place in humanity when they have been attacked in recent years by Earth ships and human marines controlled by implants? And then, of course, there are the Corsairs, who are not at all pleased with the prospect of such an alliance and do not intend to stay on the sidelines. The future direction of the war with the Corsairs will be decided in the Bloody Belt.
