Description
Zeno Kaprál (born 1942), poet, screenwriter, and essayist, and once a companion of the so-called "Brno bohemia," is here with his new collection. To poetry enthusiasts, he is known as an author of formally polished poetics. However, his "elegies" exhibit signs of a "remarkable turn," which Czech literature knows from the later works of Jaroslav Seifert. In a time of reflection, the author's style becomes clearer and communicates with the reader more than ever before. A generational peer, theater artist Arnošt Goldflam, notes on the margins of his latest work: "His language is rich, the images almost mannerist, the messages laconic, but sometimes unexpectedly strike at the heart. Kaprál is a poet of whom we have few!"
