Description
You should know three things about Jasper: 1. He sees the world completely differently than you do. 2. He cannot recognize faces. Not even his own. 3. He has become the sole witness to the murder of his neighbor, Bee Larkham. But catching a murderer whose face you can't remember is not easy... Synesthesia is a way of perceiving in which a certain sensation evokes another sensation that has no basis in reality. The world of thirteen-year-old Jasper Wishart is painted in colors that no one else can see. Words, numbers, music, days of the week, voices of people — all have their own unique hue. However, on Friday, Jasper discovered a new color that he does not like and does not understand — the color of murder. Jasper suspects that he has done something terrible and that his father is somehow involved. A bloody knife, screams, and images swirling in his head terrify the boy. He decides to revisit the events of the past few months and then paint the story of his relationship with Bee. Jasper desperately tries to make sense of his memories and the colors that ultimately lead him to the truth. However, it seems that there is someone else at play who is trying to thwart his efforts.
