Description
Běla and Sabina are identical twins. The extraordinarily strong bond in which they grow up is eroded by drugs, and only one of the sisters will emerge victorious. Their mother has since drowned in self-pity, dedicating most of her thoughts and love to the lost child. The other thus loses not only her twin but also her mother. In the same year as the two girls, Vitalij is born in a Czech village in Ukraine, who, as an adult, decides to travel to the dreamed land of his ancestors. However, in Prague, he gets involved with a pimp and labor trafficker Luboš, who strips him of all illusions. And then a child is born, connecting the fates of all the heroes and forcing them to reassess their notions of what it means to be a sister, a mother... but also a father. The novel Běsa is a multi-layered existential drama that loosely relates to the author's very successful novel Malinka.
