What is life like on the farm in spring, summer, autumn, and winter? Welcome to the Lístková family's farm! Everyone here has their hands full: mom Jana, dad Petr, and their three children — Šíma, Mája, and František. Grandma Hela and Mr. Josef also help them in the fields and on the farm. The Lístkovi grow vegetables and fruits and raise animals: horses, cows, sheep, pigs, turkeys, chickens, geese, and ducks. A dog named Míša and two cats also live on the farm. Look closely, can you spot any other animals? Life on the farm follows the seasons. In winter, Mr. Josef organizes sleigh rides for guests from the city. In spring, it's time to prepare the soil and sow seeds. Summer is the time for harvesting and haymaking. The autumn harvest is then made more enjoyable with campfires and baking potatoes in the ashes. Twelve richly illustrated double pages capture what happens on the Lístková farm throughout the year. We learn about the responsibilities of the children and the adults, what work in the fields and with the animals entails. For children aged two and up.
