The publication contains some important texts from Polish sociology of culture and literature, somewhat hidden from the Czech perspective in the flood of what comes to us from the West. It focuses on significant Polish figures in these fields from the interwar period to the present (S. Bystroně, S. Ossowskiego, S. Żółkiewskiego, A. Kłoskowską, etc.). The sociology of literature here takes on the form of a dynamic and internally complex discipline. The anthology is divided into two parts – the first contains more theoretical and methodological texts, while the second shows sociology of literature in interpretative action. Polish thinking in this field truly has much to offer.
