Description
For most people, winning the junior ice hockey championship doesn't mean much, but for the residents of Björnstad, it means everything. A victory like this could draw attention to the declining town: attract state funding and talented athletes who would choose Björnstad over the big cities nearby. A victory like this would certainly mean everything for the skinny teenager Amat, who is an outcast off the ice; for Kevin, the star player who is just a step away from a bright future in the NHL; and for Peter, their dedicated general manager whose own professional hockey career ended in tragedy. The team could have a chance to fulfill the dreams of the entire town. But one night, during the celebration of a key victory, something happens between Kevin and Peter's daughter — and the next day, it seems everything has changed. The raised accusations spread throughout Björnstad like ripples in a pond, leaving no house untouched. In the pursuit of the team's success, it becomes complicated to recognize the boundaries of loyalty and betrayal. In the end, one young man must find the courage to speak the truth that, it seems, no one wants to hear.
