Graphic designer Anna and her partner Nel grew up during a time of prosperity, so when the economic crisis hits Spain, their lives turn upside down. Once one of them loses their job, they must learn to make do, and they also face another important question — Anna is on the brink of forty, and if she wants to have a child with Nel, she can't postpone it. Yet, as strongly as Anna longs for a child, she also desires her eighteen years younger lover, through whom she escapes the gray reality. Each of their meetings is supposed to be the last, yet another always follows. Anna experiences an inner struggle. She knows she should feel guilty, but she is only overwhelmed by anger towards her surroundings and herself, thus closing herself off in a vicious circle. However, the roots of her suffering may run much deeper than she is willing to admit.
