Description
Readers are presented with another volume of a long-standing research project on Czechoslovak pilots, who, after the communist coup in February 1948, were forced by the hostile environment in their homeland—where they had triumphantly returned from Great Britain three years earlier—to choose exile once again—the longest one. This volume follows the first part, which clarified the background and subsequent events that led members of the Western air resistance to repeatedly leave the country and join the ranks of the RAF. It continues with a list of the fates of exiled pilots in alphabetical order of names, covering the range from letters H to M. Here, we again encounter the utilization of Czechoslovak aviation exiles in a wide range of flying and ground assignments with the Royal Air Force from the late 1940s to the early 1970s, not only in the British Isles but also in overseas territories.
