Description
The publication presents the life of Jan Reindl - one of the youngest generation of officers of the free Czechoslovak Republic. His life was fundamentally influenced by all the pivotal moments of our modern history, especially the characteristic and fateful years ending in eight. In 1918, as a high school student, he volunteered to occupy the South Bohemian borderlands; in 1938, as an officer in the intelligence department of the general staff, he experienced the tragic days of Munich; and in 1948, he spent the year serving as an officer in Reicin's defense intelligence. However, his career was much more colorful. During the Nazi occupation, he became involved in the resistance and spent the entire war as a political prisoner in German prisons. In the mid-1950s, just before retiring, he also held the position of commander of all aviation instructor groups in Syria and Egypt. Major General Jan Reindl thus serves as an excellent guide through the twists and turns of our modern, and not only military, history.
