Description
Intercessory prayer is not the same as petitionary prayer. We can ask for both others and ourselves and our needs. Asking for oneself is not wrong. Scripture often encourages us to turn to God with childlike trust in all our needs. However, unlike a petition, intercession is primarily focused on others and their needs. Sometimes, though, we fall into the feeling that praying for others and for the world is the least effective service a person can perform. Intercessory prayer is a heavy-caliber spiritual weapon, not a last-minute filler for the free time of those who cannot or do not know how to do anything better. Through it, a spiritual battle takes place in the invisible realm, the fruits of which will manifest visibly in due time.
