Zbožnost je užitečná ke všemu – Graubner Jan (2021)

In the book 'Piety is Useful for Everything,' Archbishop Jan Graubner of Olomouc provides a testimony of what he experienced physically and spiritually during his struggle with COVID-19. When did he feel his limitations the most? And how did God touch him in his deepest crisis? This leads him to reflections on the foundations of spiritual life. Life with God is not static – it is rather a movement from one task to another, entirely different one. In this movement, we better perceive how closely spiritual life and our health, prayer and our stresses, the search for God's will and our maturity, or a clear conscience and our motivation to act well are related. We are not alone in the world; we live in relationships. We have responsibilities for our marriage, our family, our city, our company, and our country. Piety is indeed useful for everything. Thanks to it, we manage difficult personal crises; it is the support and firm foundation of our lives as well as the glue of our relationships. The book is an expression of gratitude from Archbishop Jan Graubner for the support he received from people during the time he was confined to a hospital bed. For this reason, we also find several prayers at the end of the book.
