Description
Janusz Korczak refused to leave his children and embarked on a shared journey into darkness, into the gas chambers. More than half a million people lived in the Warsaw ghetto, and less than one percent of them survived to see the end of the war. They survived to tell their story. Young lovers Mischa and Sophia fled Warsaw just before their wedding, dreaming of a life of freedom. After being forcibly returned to the newly constructed ghetto, they joined Dr. Janusz Korczak and began caring for 200 children in an orphanage. The doctor selflessly fought to uphold the rights of even the smallest child in the face of unimaginable conditions, becoming a beacon of hope for thousands of people living behind the walls. As the noose of horror tightens around the ghetto, Misha and Sophie are separated and forced to face their worst fears alone. All they have left is the hope that they will meet again one day...
