The reader is part of a comprehensive concept for teaching the Czech language and literature in the second stage of elementary schools and multi-year gymnasiums. It offers a wide selection of texts from various genres and authors' styles that cover all important areas of the curriculum for the 8th grade. The literary excerpts are carefully selected to engage children and motivate them for further reading. Each excerpt, along with tasks and accompanying information, creates a whole that is prepared specifically for one teaching unit. Words and terms that students may not know are explained below the text. It includes explanations of the curriculum and tests. For teachers, a complete preparation for teaching literature is thus created. In accordance with the RVP ZV, it includes side columns with information about the author, the work from which the excerpt is taken, and interesting facts. Tasks are attached to the excerpts before reading, which set the appropriate atmosphere in the motivational part of the lesson, as well as tasks for working with the text and expanding tasks with interdisciplinary relationships.
