The working textbook 'Civic Education Reader: The Czech Republic and Europe' accompanies and complements the 'Playful Civic Education 5: The Czech Republic and Europe' with engaging texts. The texts are arranged according to the chapters and subchapters of the Civic Education textbook and offer a more detailed introduction to the given topic in an engaging manner. In one of the chapters, for example, we will visit our capital city, during which we will not only get to know the most significant landmarks but also wander into the alleys of old Prague to immerse ourselves in ancient Prague legends. We will also continue to discover the peculiarities and beauties of our homeland. We will travel along the most beautiful rivers, climb the highest mountains, and learn about the history of significant factories and enterprises. This time, however, we will also venture beyond the borders of our republic. We will meet our neighbors and explore everything their culture and natural beauties have to offer. And at the end of the textbook, we will meet again with the trio of traveling friends, Ondřej, Klára, and Jakub. This time they have prepared travel tips for us for expeditions to the most beautiful seas, where to go for the most interesting landmarks, or where to discover the natural beauties of countries that, like us, lie on the European continent.
