The textbook includes chapters for the preparatory phase, where children prepare for reading instruction, familiarize themselves with the school environment, practice left-right orientation, find differences, and recognize their first letters. Throughout the autumn and early winter, children will become acquainted with all capital letters and learn to read and write simple texts. There are exercises for auditory perception, picture reading, graphomotor exercises, etc. All exercises work only with letters that the students already know, so the work is appropriately challenging for them. From the beginning, students are encouraged to write down their own thoughts and observations, with a strong emphasis on self-assessment of what they have achieved. Each chapter and individual exercises are richly accompanied by colorful illustrations, and black-and-white illustrations are also included in the textbook, which students can color in.
