The workbook Colorful English 1 is designed as an ideal supplementary material for most publications commonly used in teaching English at the primary school level. It contains a variety of fun exercises with illustrations for coloring, filling in, or drawing. These tasks serve to diversify and reinforce the curriculum both in English lessons and during home preparation. The publication also includes a removable card with templates for three board games focused on the vocabulary being studied, an answer key, and a picture English-Czech dictionary. In accordance with the RVP ZV, the purpose of the exercises in the publication is not only to develop elementary vocabulary and English language structures but also to practice fine motor skills, using pictures for coloring or tracing letters or whole words. The exercises focus on both the graphic aspect of the language and the auditory aspect – therefore, the publication also includes online audio recordings with accompanying transcripts. The publication is divided into nine chapters, interspersed with three short review lessons. The workbook was compiled by a team of experts in education based on their experiences in teaching English at the primary school level.
