The textbook Practical Chemistry is intended for special education. It introduces students to the basics of general and inorganic chemistry. It is developed with regard to the latest findings and tailored to the specific needs of students in special schools and schools educating students requiring support measures. In an understandable way, it teaches students basic chemical concepts, which are placed in the context of real life, and outlines their future applications. The first part of the textbook is dedicated to familiarizing students with various energy sources, introducing them to basic hydrocarbons and organic substances. It defines basic concepts related to energy and organic chemistry and explains where we encounter them and why they are important to us. The second part is devoted to the significance of chemistry for humans. In it, students learn about the use of chemistry in various industrial sectors and the importance of different organic substances for human nutrition. This will help to better place the theoretical information from the first part of the book into the context of practical applicability in people's lives.
