Description
Dresden – a city always close to the Czechs, once called the Florence on the Elbe for its beauty. Two cyclists, who regularly repeat their journey there on bicycles, represent two different human worlds. The older one seeks a forgotten time and recalls life in the city through photographs and memories of his parents and grandparents, while the younger one lives in the present. The narrative becomes an unusual guide to the city before and after the bombing, accompanied by a depiction of the horrors of war during two February nights in 1945, when Dresden became one large ruin with thousands of dead, yet it is also permeated by a poignant theme – coming to terms with aging and death.
