Description

Borders have played and continue to play a central role in modern states in establishing the social status of citizenship or defining sovereign power over a certain territory. A different perspective was brought by the vision of opening up Europe after the fall of the Iron Curtain; however, the weakening of the borders of individual states now seems like a utopia to many. The question of their security is on the agenda. What is the permeability of European borders? What are the moral limits in the current conception of the borders of European states? The author seeks answers to these questions from the perspective of political theory and moral philosophy, which he presents through analyses of selected aspects of the topic of labor migration.
