Description
This collection of fairy tales for children aged 4 and up welcomes readers to a remarkable world inhabited by all kinds of ingenious vehicles, including ambulances, a mini tractor, a bulldozer, a tanker, a garbage truck, a police car, a racing car and many of their friends. There is also the dangerous Šroťák, an angry combine harvester and the lake monster Lochnerezka. Ghosts of ancient steam-powered cars like to enter dreams, traffic lights grow like sunflowers, and ice cream is paid for in octanes. Through a transparent underwater tunnel, readers visit Bloudín, the capital of the island kingdom of Velká Baterie, where the coronation of a new ruler is approaching. They also meet Gina, a likeable buggy and the local driving-school teacher who knows how to deal with everything. At the end of each story, instead of a bell, young readers find a question to ponder for a moment.
