Description
Bernadette Moriauová is a Franciscan sister and an Oblate of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. She comes from a large Catholic family, and her deeply religious parents often struggled financially. Bernadette joined the order at the age of 19 and eventually became a nurse, a dream she had since childhood. She dedicated her life to God and others. However, she soon began to suffer from back pain, which gradually worsened even after several surgeries. She had to stop working, and severe pain was managed with medication and an implanted neurostimulator. Ultimately, disabled Bernadette could only move with great difficulty and for short distances. In 2008, her general practitioner suggested she participate in a diocesan pilgrimage to Lourdes. Upon returning home, she felt an unusual warmth flood her body, and shortly thereafter, all her ailments suddenly disappeared. This surprising healing was studied by many doctors for ten years. They ultimately concluded that, given the current state of scientific knowledge, they could not explain it. At the beginning of 2018, a diocesan commission appointed by the bishop recognized Bernadette's healing as miraculous. It is the 70th Lourdes miracle in the last 160 years. In this very sincere confession, the author repeatedly seeks the mysterious reasons for this miracle: Why me?
