As time passes, however, a new elite led by the pigs Kuliš and Napoleon emerges, and the egalitarian society gradually turns into something very different and far less just. George Orwell’s outstanding satire is a timeless allegory of the corrupting influence of power and, alongside 1984, remains the best-known work by this British writer.
