Description
Winter with frost, snow, and blizzards has gripped all of Orava. Snow-covered Dolný Kubín is slowly preparing for its first post-war Christmas. However, not everyone is looking forward to the holidays: eighteen-year-old Hana is returning to her hometown from Auschwitz, and no one is there to welcome her; she encounters distrust, hatred, and anger. Few believe the stories of what prisoners in the camps had to endure. And the emaciated, hungry Hana wanders in fever between the synagogue and the evangelical church, without a home, and the apartment of her family has been confiscated by a woman who worked in her parents' pharmacy. Her life will be turned around by the help of people who know what it is like to grieve and lose a loved one, as well as one unexpected return.
