Description
In the twenty years of our EU membership, we have already had the fifth elections to the European Parliament. It was known long in advance that their results would have a signaling significance. The escalating social tension indicated that a significant portion of citizens is increasingly dissatisfied with the performance of the Czech government. More and more voters are beginning to realize how strongly "Brussels" influences our lives – through mass migration, but also through the Green Deal with all its negative economic and social impacts. The European elections thus became an opportunity for voters to freely express their opinions through their votes. The Václav Klaus Institute has been long and attentively observing, analyzing, commenting on these trends and events, and offering solutions. Therefore, we have paid extraordinary attention to the significance and seriousness of the 2024 European Parliament elections in our texts, commentaries, and interviews. This has resulted in a number of interesting, and we believe inspiring, texts that we have neatly organized into a collection titled "IVK on the Recent European Elections." The book features contributions from Václav Klaus, Jiří Weigl, Ivo Strejček, and Ladislav Jakl.
