The book "The Self-Destruction of the West 2.0" with the subtitle "The Fall Accelerates" follows the publication "The Self-Destruction of the West" from 2020. A collective of authors from the Václav Klaus Institute and his close collaborators conclude in the new book that the West as a free world, protecting tradition and the right of people to live as they wish, is ceasing to exist and that the dynamics of this negative process is constantly increasing. ***** From the title of the collection, it may seem that we are trying to 'scare' the readers. However, we do not want to scare; we want to motivate the public to open their eyes and start perceiving the ongoing phenomena seriously and in all relevant contexts. The West – both European and American – does not consider at all the possibility, the very real possibility, of civilizational regression. We believe that our fellow citizens are not aware of this possibility, that they do not want to admit it at all, that they think that everything happening is just a short-term fluctuation, but that the beautiful future rich and developed world will come anyway. We fear that this is not the case.
