Description
This collection commemorates 300 years since the birth of Maria Theresa, an anniversary that should not be overlooked. When she came to power, she inherited a vast empire that resembled a colossus with feet of clay: the monarchy was internally divided and the state treasury was empty. Maria Theresa therefore had to introduce financial and administrative reforms that would pave the way for the modernization of the country. The collection examines her legacy through contributions by Jiří Weigl, Jan Sechter, Ferdinand Trauttmansdorff, Jaroslav Čechura, Jindřich Forejt, Karl Vocelka, Vladimír Liška, Milan Hlavačka, Eduard Maur, Josef Pekař, Václav Junek and Michal Skořepa, edited by Marek Loužek. It includes the Pragmatic Sanction of 19 April 1713, Maria Theresa’s patent establishing general school regulations, the corvée patent and reproductions of color paintings of Maria Theresa. The contents are in Czech.
