Description
This Czech-language debut poetry collection introduces Nikolaj Ivaskiv, a poet and musician born in Chișinău, Moldova, who has lived most of his life in the Czech Republic. He studied Protestant theology and works professionally with sound, audiobook recording, music recording and composition. His poems and other texts have appeared in Tvar and Host magazines, and he is included in the bilingual Spanish-Czech anthology of contemporary Czech poetry El Vuelo Lejano and Lo Lejos, edited by Klára Goldstein in 2025. Under the artistic name kintsugi, he composes music featuring his own poetic texts, using a collage-like approach that combines passages from different poems to suit his musical expression. For this work, he has adopted the genre of esoteric hip-hop, an ambient form of rhythmic music.
