Description
Kristian Sendon Cordero is a Filipino poet, translator, and filmmaker who runs the independent community bookstore Savage Mind. His poetry is rawly surrealistic. It depicts tropical flowers and dead rats, contemplates an ancient statue of a Buddha crowned with snakes, recalls a devastating storm that is evoked by the name of his mother, and closely observes a ceremonial procession of ants. He strives to encompass the multiplicity of what we often refer to as the universal human condition. In this poetry collection, he is viewed through the magnifying glass of a unique poetic soul of the Philippines, who calls upon the wind or the souls of the dead with a whistle. In this book, you will find his poems in Czech - as well as in the original Filipino languages.
