Sofinka and her father get lost during a trip to a peat bog and, under unusual circumstances, find themselves in the marvelous realm of the slowpokes called Slow Film. For her father, a proponent of a fast-paced and consumerist lifestyle, this is initially uncomfortable, while Sofinka, considered 'too slow and perpetually dreamy' in the world of humans, is in her element among the slowpokes. However, the idyllic world of the slowpokes is suddenly threatened by speed, and the plot gains momentum and clockpunk provocation in the realm of the quick-cookers - Exciting Film. Inventor Leotard has managed to create something that was spoken of in the legends of the slowpokes as a hellish machine - the Golden Onion. Thus, Sofinka, along with Teddy and other friends, embarks on an adventurous journey across the dangerous Mrcholes to the bustling residence of the quick-cookers to slow down time and save the unique world they love so much. The story of Sofinka and her friends takes place in Šumava, where the common teddy bear and other species of slowpokes live on the moss. Slowpokes are millimeter-sized creatures with exceptional properties.
