Description
American journalist and political scientist Kevin J. McNamara explores the circumstances leading up to the creation of Czechoslovakia in his publication. He focuses particularly on two key, interconnected factors: the diplomatic efforts of the foreign resistance led by T. G. Masaryk and the dramatic epic of the Czechoslovak legions in Russia. The author traces the journey of the legionnaires from Ukraine through Siberia to Vladivostok, highlighting their heroism, military skill, and explaining their contribution to the establishment of the new state to the reader. This engagingly written book, with a rich set of notes, brings closer events that are still relatively unknown.
