Jedničkáři – Dlouhý Michal (2025)

The emeritus chief police commissioner is turning to the recent past this time, in contrast to his traditional literary works dedicated exclusively to gendarmerie cases.
The 'ones' are the workers of the so-called first department, or the general crime department of the criminal police and investigation of the district directorate of the Police of the Czech Republic. The story of the book takes place in Bohemia, in a fictional district town located less than a hundred kilometers from Prague. The protagonists are a pair of police officers: Major JUDr. Jaroslav Falta, a former investigator and a typical prototype of a bureaucrat, and Captain Petr Brouček, a criminal investigator in body and soul dealing with violent and moral crimes. The book reflects the professional, but especially the private joys and sorrows of the main characters.
It is a collection of thirteen crime stories inspired by real cases from the early 21st century.
According to the first story, director Jiří Svoboda made a crime film titled Domina.
