The famous state circus "Humberto" was founded in 1951, inspired by the novel of Eduard Bass. The stories that the author presents to readers and fans are historically true and begin as early as 1865. The Jung family were the first to establish a circus in Bohemia as such. For centuries, their craft has been passed down from generation to generation. ***** The father of the family and ringmaster Dominik was 54 years old; he was an excellent animal trainer, artist, and knife thrower. His wife Josefína came from a family of fair wrestlers. In the circus, she performed strength acrobatics. Their eldest son Fedor was 28 years old, handsome, tall, and blue-eyed like his father. He showcased a fire show, fire swallowing and spitting, and tightrope walking. The second son Frederik, at twenty-five, was a great acrobat, juggler, horse jumper, and sharpshooter with a rifle and pistol. The youngest daughter Marie was an excellent acrobat on the high bar and a very flexible snake woman. They had music in their genes - each of them could play a musical instrument or sing. As for artistic skills, they could all do almost everything, from juggling to acrobatics, and they also knew everything about running a circus; they were a well-rehearsed team.
