Description
French psychoanalyst Erik Porge aims in his work to build on his predecessor Jacques Lacan, who included the invocatory drive (listening) in the list of drives (oral, anal, scopophilic). Porge refers to the "echo stage" as a structural moment that lies on the border between a scream and an address, preceding the mirror stage and simultaneously being part of it. In an effort to clearly formulate the invocatory drive, the author returns to clinical phenomena such as echolalia in autism, clarifies the function of the psychoanalyst's silence, and addresses structural questions, among which Nadja [surmoi] can be included.
