Customs and traditions of the people from the Krkonošsko region at the beginning of the 20th century, supplemented by recipes for traditional folk dishes. The author, a teacher at the gymnasium in Vrchlabí, worked in the Krkonoš Museum in the 1980s, focusing on folklore and ethnographic research, guiding through the months of the year, describing the difficult life of the Krkonoš people, their traditions, and customs. Each month includes recipes for simple dishes of poor mountain dwellers, which they cooked from available ingredients for that period. You will learn, for example, what 'grammar', 'false pajšl', or 'netynka' is, and you might even prepare a Christmas mushroom dish.
