Description
Stanislav Rejthar (1911-1977), a war pilot and member of the 313th Czechoslovak Fighter Squadron of the RAF in Great Britain, also participated in the Slovak National Uprising with the 1st Independent Fighter Air Regiment under the command of Captain František Fajtl. After 1948, he was demoted, discharged from the army, and evicted from his apartment. He found work only as a crane operator, later becoming a designer. His memories are not only a reminder of the wartime hardships and victories over the Nazis but also a testament to the lifelong persecution following the communist takeover. From a series of authentic narratives of the war pilot, a remarkable compilation of his entire life story emerged more than twenty years after his death.
