Description
Astonishment – the second novel by Kamil Vondrášek subtitled A Red Library for Men. The subtitle largely reflects the macho perspective of the main character on the world and, of course, on women. However, it is not Fifty Shades of Grey, but a full-color spectrum of at times almost naturalistic views on relationships and intimacy. It is a story of rise and fall, a story of the lightness of living and the heaviness of being. It is possible that the novel will surprisingly attract more female readers than male ones – if only to satisfy their natural curiosity about how they themselves are perceived through a male lens.
