Description
This original Czech publication traces the career of one of the most significant artists of all time, focusing primarily on the nature and significance of the image. In the introduction to a catalogue of Bob Dylan’s visual-art exhibition, Andrew Kelly writes: “We judge Dylan primarily by his musical work; we do not perceive him as an artist in the broadest sense, which is what he truly is.” The book therefore goes beyond Dylan’s poetic images to consider his cinematic and visual-art images as well. It reflects not only on the artistic image as a fundamental element of Dylan’s poetics, but also on images of his persona, which form an important part of his work. The contents are in Czech.
