The subtitle of the book "Rough and Tender Stories from the Podkrkonoší" perfectly captures the character of the work by the young author – a local patriot with a truly warm relationship to the region. As he himself says, he humbly retold regional legends and local history in a form accessible to today's readers, primarily out of love for the Podkrkonoší region and its cultural nuances. He organized the stories to gradually cover the entire area from Hradec Králové to somewhere along the upper Elbe, where the real mountains begin, allowing the reader to seemingly travel through the entire territory via these tales. For example, we learn about the story of Holovousy and its little apples, about Chod from Chodovice, about pale Anička Bergerová, about the deadly portal in Hořice, and many other legends that capture the local color.
